Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest of the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
For he will rescue me from loneliness and protect me from protesting groups.
He will cover me like fine Thai silk from the best of seamstresses. He will shelter me with his warm winds. His faithful promises are my motorbike helmet and protection.
I will not be afraid of dark evening rides on songtaos nor speeding motorbikes as I try to cross the street.
I will not dread flu season or food poisoning or even a cold.
Though chaos and shame and harm hit those on either side of me, these evils will not touch me.
If I make the Lord my refuge, if I make the Most High my shelter, no evil will conquer me; no plague will come near my home.
For he will order his angels to protect me wherever I go, whether inside the moat, along Hang Dong, or on my daily walk to school.
His angels will hold me up with their hands so I won’t even hurt my foot on a stone or trip on an uneven sidewalk.
The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor, not shame, them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”
